AutoCAD Refresher
( 1 Day )

Course Dates & Bookings

Learning AutoCAD requires practice and repetition. Many of the Techniques that are presented in the Introduction and Fundamentals courses need to be consolidated before a user becomes proficient.

The objective of this Fundamentals class is to enable students to create a basic 2D drawing in AutoCAD. The class covers the indispensable core topics for working with AutoCAD. The teaching strategy is to start with a few basic tools that will let the student create and edit a simple drawing. We then continue to develop those tools, as well as introducing more advanced tools throughout the course. Not every command or option is covered, because the intent is to show the most essential tools and concepts.

The student progresses with more sophisticated techniques after understanding the basics. These will extend the user's mastery of the program. For example, here we go beyond the basic skill of inserting a block to learn how to create blocks, and beyond the basic skill of using a template to understand the process of setting up a template.

Who Should Attend

This class is ideal for the person who has past experience with AutoCAD but needs to gain or re-gain a solid foundation of the basics.

It is also an excellent class for those who had some AutoCAD Training from other sources and have not been completely satisfied with the course outcomes.

Objectives

Upon completion of the class, the student will be able to create a basic 2D drawing using drawing and editing tools, organize drawing entities into layers, add text and basic dimensions, and prepare to plot. Students will be able to incorporate and manage Plot and Layouts tools. We recommend practice after class in order to reinforce these new skills.
